Description
Violet anodized aluminum jump rings, wound from 16 SWG wire at 5/16 inch inner diameter.
The color is anodized into the surface of the aluminum rather than painted onto it, so closing a ring with pliers will not chip it back to bare metal.
These rings run an aspect ratio of 5 — inner diameter divided by wire thickness. An open ratio. Byzantine, box chain, Japanese weaves and full Persian all want rings around here, and it is a common choice for hanging scales.
Sixteen gauge is the general-purpose armor wire: strong enough to wear all day, still closable by hand without bench tools. Most wearable shirts and coifs are built on it.
