16 gauge · 7/32″ ID — the workhorse ring

Same label. Two different rings.

“16 gauge” names two different wires. SWG wire is 0.063″; AWG is 0.051″. On the same 7/32″ inner diameter that difference moves the aspect ratio from ≈3.5 to ≈4.3 — a visibly looser weave under the same product name.

We stock SWG and print the wire standard on every ring listing, so the weave you plan is the weave that arrives.

One ring size, two wire standards
System Wire dia. AR @ 7/32″ ID What that weaves
16 SWG 0.063″ / 1.6 mm ≈ 3.5 Tight European 4-in-1 — what we stock
16 AWG 0.051″ / 1.3 mm ≈ 4.3 Looser drape — common elsewhere under the same label

AR (aspect ratio) = ring inner diameter ÷ wire diameter — the number that decides which weaves a ring can tie. Never mix wire standards inside one project.
