Bright aluminum is the natural mill finish. It is the usual base people weave against anodized colors when they want the pattern to carry the design instead of the palette.
These rings run an aspect ratio of 7.4 — inner diameter divided by wire thickness. A wide-open ratio. Suits Japanese 12-in-2, scale attachment, dragonscale, and any weave where rings need room to sit at an angle.
Twenty gauge is fine wire, meant for bracelets, chain, and detail work. It closes easily by hand and is not intended to carry armor loads.
The pack runs approximately 650 rings. At two rings per scale plus a ten percent spare buffer, that carries roughly 295 scales of scalemail.
